Windshield Repairs

CALL US : 775-242-7209
Heavy equipment works in environments that are far more stressful than those endured by the average vehicle. As one of the weakest materials on machines made almost entirely out of metal, the glass arguably takes the worst punishment. Consequently, their windshields tend to need replacement more frequently.
All kinds of things can drastically shorten the lifespan of your windshield:
  • Accidents
  • Falling debris
  • Wild temperature swings
  • Low-quality glass
  • Amateurish windshield installation

You shouldn’t ignore cracks or chips on your windshield. Driving a bulldozer with a smashed windshield on a dusty construction site can’t possibly be pleasant.

OSHA and FMCSA Requirements

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requires all heavy equipment to have an intact windshield and functional wipers.

This is a rule that doesn’t really need to exist. It’s plain common sense.

But its existence makes keeping up with windshield maintenance all the more important in order to avoid all the penalties and fines that would come along with violating government directives.

Early Warning Signs of Window Problems

Cracks and fractures aren’t the only signs of a damaged window. By the time you see them it is often a rather advanced problem unless a brick just happened to fall on your windshield. There are often early warning signs of a weekend window.
