Baler Repair

CALL US : 775-242-7209
Balers are used in recycling and farming. They come in all shapes and sizes but their functionality is more or less the same.

Materials like cut grass, plastics, and corrugated cardboard aren’t very compact. An empty plastic bottle, for example, takes up a lot of space and most of it is just air. This makes transporting a large number of them needlessly expensive. The empty plastic bottle can occupy a lot less space if it’s just compressed into a single sheet. With this process, the space taken by one empty bottle could easily accommodate more than 100 compressed ones.

Balers use hydraulics to compress large quantities of materials like recyclable plastics into compact cubes that are easier to handle, store, and transport.

Types of Balers

There are two main types of balers: Vertical balers, Horizontal balers

Horizontal Balers

Horizontal balers compress materials by the use of horizontal rams instead of vertical ones. Some horizontal balers have two rams instead of one, a feature that makes the compression process faster and more efficient.

Despite being larger and more expensive than downstroke balers, horizontal balers have several advantages over vertical ones

Vertical Balers

As the name suggests, vertical balers, also called downstroke balers compress and compact materials by using a downward force.

The material to be compacted is placed on a pan, the gate is closed, and the ram descends from the roof, compressing it all into a single cube.

Horizontal Baler Advantage

Higher Processing Volume
Horizontal balers can compress a lot more material at a much faster rate than vertical balers. This makes them perfect for industrial applications at places like recycling plants.

Consistency of the Bale
Horizontal balers can create larger bales and also bales of more consistent size and weight. This greatly simplifies the storage and transport of the bales.

Convenience
Horizontal bales can be combined with other systems like shredders and conveyor belts to form an assembly line-like system.

Increased Processing Capacity
Horizontal balers can compress nearly everything thrown in them. They also outperform vertical balers in the number of bales they can make in an hour.

Vertical Baler Advantages

Vertical balers have a few advantages over horizontal balers.
Smaller Size
Vertical balers take up less space than horizontal balers, allowing you to squeeze them into tighter spots. But you do have to check your baler specifications for how much ceiling clearance you need. The baler still needs room to move.

Lower Costs
Vertical balers cost a lot less than horizontal balers, making them a cost-effective option for small to medium-sized enterprises.

Materials Processed
Vertical balers can compress the same variety of materials as their larger and costlier horizontal counterparts despite their size.
